Dr. Anders F. Henriksen, Founder of Ceramco, Inc.Anders Finn Henriksen was born in Copenhagen, Denmark in 1947. He attended The Technical University of Denmark and graduated with an M.Sc. in Chemical Engineering in 1970. In 1973, Dr. Henriksen moved to Boston, MA to attend graduate school at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He graduated from M.I.T. in 1978 earning his Sc.D. in Ceramic Science in The Department of Materials Science and Engineering. He remained at M.I.T. as a post-doctoral employee performing work in thermal analysis and hydrothermal processing of ultra pure oxides until 1980. Anders relocated to Chatham, NH and founded Ceramco, Inc. in 1982 as a consulting firm. In 1984, Ceramco, Inc. changed focus and began producing ceramic components out of alumina and zirconia using a low-pressure ceramic injection molding process. Ceramco's ceramic manufacturing business has grown steadily ever since, with annual revenues of $2.5 million and 17 employees. Dr. Henriksen was a member and President of The Association of American Ceramic Component Manufacturers (AACCM, sponsored by the American Ceramic Society). AACCM is a trade organization composed of thirty-three ceramic manufacturers. He was also a Trustee for the Fryeburg Academy in Fryeburg, Maine. After his passing on October 14, 2006, Anders left Ceramco to two of his children, Thomas Henriksen and Alexandra Henriksen, who are the current co-owners. Thomas has assumed his father’s title as President, and C.E.O. |
