Ceramic Fastener FAQs

Are the ceramic fasteners listed on your website immediately available?
Yes, typical order quantities of ceramic nuts, ceramic bolts or ceramic washers are usually in stock and ready for shipment on the same day. Higher quantities (1,000s) of ceramic fasteners may require a waiting period of 7-10 days for delivery.

Can I have a sample ceramic fastener to see if it will work for my application?
No, it is against Ceramco's policy to provide free samples. The minimum order quantity is 10 pieces, with the exception of zirconia fasteners.

What factors affect the lead time involved with my order?
Our customers are our first priority, and your order is processed as soon as it is received. Although our ceramic fasteners are considered standard, off-the-shelf items, they are still custom made to your order. Ceramic bolts or ceramic screws must be cut to the desired length before they can ship. Ceramic fastener head styles that we have not made before will require some additional time to process your order.

What shipping methods do you offer? Is rush delivery available?
We ship via U.S. Mail, UPS, and FedEx. Other carriers may be available upon special request. All faster delivery services offered by our shipping providers are available. Orders are sent UPS Ground by default. We DO NOT ship FedEx Ground.

Do you accept credit cards?
No, we do not accept any credit cards. You must submit a purchase order with adequate credit references (if this is a first-time order) to place an order with us.

What are the physical, electrical, or mechanical properties of your ceramic fasteners?
You may consult our material properties chart for select data on our fasteners. The alumina fasteners are made of A998, and our zirconia fasteners are made of PSZ. There are also select data available for strength properties.

What are the dimensions of the sizes you offer?
You can find the dimensions of our ceramic fasteners in the dimensional specifications tables on this website.

What if the charts on your website indicate that the ceramic head style I want is not offered?
A ceramic head style that is not listed on the chart as a stock item has not been made before due to lack of popularity. If the particular ceramic head style you want or a head style for a certain size is not shown, we will make it. Ceramco is a custom ceramic component manufacturer, and the market leader in ceramic fasteners, so we can also make special head configurations just for your application.

Do you have larger sizes?
No. The diameter of bolt sizes larger than 3/8" is too thick for our processing capabilities.

What advantages do ceramic fasteners have over traditional fasteners?
Ceramic material is a better choice when the user is concerned about magnetism, electrical and thermal conductivity, or corrosion. Our ceramic bolts are non-magnetic. In general they do not conduct electricity, can withstand higher temperatures than steel and plastic, and are chemically inert. Ceramic fasteners do not corrode and wear like other materials and are subject to different failure mechanisms.
