Grinding

If the as-fired tolerance guidelines of the fired ceramic product are not sufficient for your application, grinding to more exacting tolerances using diamond impregnated tools is an option during the ceramic fabrication process. Flat surface, OD and ID, ultrasonic, and centerless grinding can be done on our up-to-date CNC equipment. However, grinding adds substantially to the price and we suggest you take the time to review the absolute necessity of each dimension (focus on the critical dimensions to be ground and the resulting cost reduction can be significant without compromising part fit and function).

Our grinding tolerance capability is limited primarily by the ceramic part’s shape and size. Upon the receipt of your print we will define any problem areas we may find and give recommendations as to the best way to hold tolerances per your application.
