Job Posting – Ceramic Engineer

Job Description

Responsibilities of the Ceramic Engineer include:

  • Particle size measurement of powders, density measurement of ceramic bodies, and lab test or trial raw materials and additives
  • Help define BOM’s (from a ceramic raw material standpoint) & manufacturing process routings and drive standardized work (SOPs) throughout all areas
  • Key contributor to process improvement practices to find areas for cost savings and increased efficiency across product lines
  • Develop methods and procedures for manufacturing and production to meet customer demand and minimize cost impact
  • Ensure resources and materials are adequate to meet the organization’s technical requirements and efficiencies
  • Evaluate production and determine ways to improve efficiency of the production lines while ensuring the achievement of quality standards
  • Lead continuous improvement activity and culture including participation in ISO Quality Systems

The Successful Applicant

The Ceramic Engineer should have the following:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Materials Science and Engineering or Ceramic Engineering
  • Manage several technical projects & troubleshoot critical product issues simultaneously
  • Must be hands-on and have comfort working on manufacturing floor when required
  • 3+ years in a manufacturing environment. Strong Lean Methodologies, continuous improvement background
  • Ability to work closely with manufacturing floor personnel
  • Strong engineering skills and critical thinking ability
  • Proven ability to adapt quickly to an ever-changing fast-paced environment
